Dependence of the equatorial intensity ratio of the 10 and 11 reflections from tetanic isometric tension at sarcomere length 2.2 μm. Tetanic tension was varied by adjusting [BDM] in the range 1–8 mM and plotted on the abscissa normalized to tetanic tension in unmodified Ringer's solution (PBDM/Po). Ratios are plotted for both tetanized (▪) and for the relaxed (◊) states. The lines are best fits of a linear regression of I11/I10 upon PBDM.
