Each insert sequence for the S2 deletion mutants was entered into the SwissProt Tools at ExPaSy (Expert Protein Analysis System; www.expasy.ch). The software was then able to predict the number of amino acids and the size of each truncated protein from the ORF of each deletion mutant. The size of each GST fusion protein was also predicted (GST alone is 26 kDa).
