RSV RNA and U6 snRNA comigrate during velocity sedimentation. (A) Native virion RNA was sedimented through a 10%–25% sucrose gradient. The RNA in each fraction was analyzed by an RNase protection assay with both viral and U6 specific probes. (B) The virion RNA was denatured by heating at 95°C for 5 min before layering onto the gradient. Sedimentation conditions and the RNase protection assay were performed as in A.
