All data were centered and standardized prior to analysis. Anxiety symptom group was coded as 0 for GAD-7 ≤4 and 1 for GAD-7 >4. Model 1 was a linear regression model including Age, Sex, Smoke and Drink as the independent variables, with NIHSS as the dependent variable. Model 2 was another linear regression model that included GAD and MIP1α as the inde- pendent variables, with NIHSS as the dependent variable. Model 3 included GAD, MIP1α, GAD×MIP1α terms as independent variables and NIHSS as the dependent variable. Both Model 2 and the Model 3 were adjusted for Age, Sex, Smoke and Drink. **p <0.01, ***p <0.001.
