Erratum

In the October 2005 issue of the Journal, in David Viskochil's book review of Neurofibromatosis: A Handbook for Patients, Families, and Healthcare Professionals, 2nd ed., by Bruce Korf and Allan E. Rubenstein (77:681), there is a typographical error of some consequence. In the fifth paragraph, there is a comment about an association between schwannomatosis and MPNSTs (malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors). This is incorrect. The association is with respect to peripheral nerve sheath tumors (PNSTs) that are not malignant. The overlap of NF1, NF2, and schwannomatosis lies with the benign tumors of the peripheral nerve sheath. MPNSTs have not been identified in individuals with schwannomatosis. The author regrets the error.
