Identification of alternative integration sites for Stx phages. PCR analyses using the stx1-r or stx2-r primer with the 221-r primer revealed that the Stx2 phage of no. 2 is integrated at the Sp15 (the Stx1 phage of Sakai) locus. Similar analyses using the 209-r primer revealed that the Stx1 phage of no. 2 and the Stx2 phages of nos. 4, 6, and 8 are integrated in the 208/209 region.
