The amino acids that are shown as superscript represent the mutations at the respective positions observed after interferon treatment in the same nonresponder sample. In sample 2, the sequences were compared (both AT and BT) from amino acids 2210 to 2249. The asterisk indicates insertion of two R residues in sample 8 (before treatment).
