As in Figure 1, the positions of the insertion sites of the various Tourist subfamily members into Tourist-B2 and other Tourist-Zm elements are shown along with the TSD. The sequence flanking the trimer in B79 was amplified with primer Pb and an adapter primer (see Methods for details). For B37, the tetramer was amplified using a locus-specific primer, Pf, and the B2 primer PB2r. The number above each element in B79 indicates the similarity between the element in B79 and its counterpart in B37. The asterisk indicates that the primer was labeled with ³³P.
