Surviving B. thuringiensis wild-type and ΔclpP1 cells after incubation with hemolymph from B. mori larvae. Two hundred microliters of hemolymph and 20 μl of a dilution containing about 10⁵ B. thuringiensis viable cells were mixed. The reaction mixture was incubated without shaking at 28 (A) and 37°C (B). Aliquots were withdrawn at the time points indicated, and the surviving bacteria were counted. Experiments were repeated three times. Error bars, standard errors of the means.
