Nucleotide identities are based on a 1,198-bp sequence, excluding the primer positions, and are shown in the upper half of the table. The sequence alignments of strains 97-114 and 12D used for calculation contained a stop codon at nucelotide position 790. Amino acid identities are based on the sequence presented in Fig. 3 and are shown in the lower half. For caluculation, 400 residues were used for strains GA3, 97-047, and HM-6, and 251 residues were used for strains 97-114 and 12D.
