The T. delbrueckii calcineurin-Crz1p pathway plays no role in Na⁺ tolerance. Exponentially growing cultures of the T. delbrueckii strains PYCC5321 (wild type [wt]) and MJH211 (Tdcrz1Δ) were adjusted to an OD₆₀₀ of 0.3, diluted (1 to 10⁻³), and spotted (3 μl) onto YPD agar medium containing CaCl₂, NaCl, or LiCl at the indicated concentrations, in the presence or absence of 1 μg/ml FK506 or 10 μg/ml cyclosporine A (CsA). Plates were incubated at 30°C for 2 to 5 days. A representative experiment is shown.
