Arabidopsis plants were grown vertically for 10 d on 0.5× MS agar plates and then treated for 24 h with 100 μm nonradioactive CdCl2 (A) or 0.1 μm109CdCl2 (B). Shoots and roots were harvested separately before measuring Cd content using an atomic absorption spectrometer (A) or liquid scintillation counter (B).
