Classification of the haplotype groups that can be distinguished using triplex SNP typing reactions on allele-specific PCR products in comparison to haplotypes inferred by Drysdale et al. (9). The groups allow division into the main haplotypes in three major populations (Caucasians, Africans and Asians). In the case of prior knowledge of the ethnic origin of the DNA the exact haplotype can be determined with very high reliability.
