CVB3-mediated cyclin D1 proteolysis is independent of GSK3β activity. Serum-restimulated HeLa cells were preincubated with different concentrations of the GSK3β inhibitor LiCl for 30 min and then infected with CVB3 or sham infected. Five hours after CVB3 infection, the cell lysates were analyzed for cyclin D1, p53, and β-catenin expression by Western blotting. The Western blotting results for β-catenin were quantitated by densitometric analysis and normalized to the sham-infected cells as described above. The results were similar in two independent experiments.
