Chromatin assembled with or without histone H1 on pMMTVCAT B-B DNA was digested with micrococcal nuclease (MNase) for increasing times. The resulting DNA fragments were separated by electrophoresis on a 1.3% agarose gel in 1× TBE buffer and stained with ethidium bromide. The numbers on each site indicate the approximate size of the fragments in base pairs as determined by comparison with appropriate size markers.
