Note that the transmembrane helices of SERCA do not run parallel to the PLN helix and that Leu-321 in SERCA appears to guide the path of PLN just above the membrane surface. A potential hydrogen bond between Asn-34 in PLN and Thr-805 in SERCA is indicated by a dashed line.
