Reversible activation of Kir channels by diC8 PIP2 analogs and inhibition by oleoyl-CoA. Inside-out macropatch measurements on recombinant Kir channels expressed in Xenopus oocytes were performed as in Fig. 1. (A Upper) Representative trace for Kir2.1 channels. Repetitive applications of 25 μM diC8 PI(4,5)P2 are shown by the horizontal lines before and after the application of 10 μM oleoyl-CoA. (Lower) A similar measurement on Kir7.1 (B Upper) Kir2.1 channels. The applications of 25 μM diC8 PI(4,5)P2, PI(3,4,5)P3, and PI(3,4)P2 are shown by the horizontal lines.
