T. cruzi inhibits caspase 3 activity in infected H9c2 cells. H9c2 cells were infected with T. cruzi and treated with TNF 24 h postinfection. Twenty-four hours following TNF-α treatment, cells were lysed and 5 ng total cell protein was assessed for caspase 3, 8, and 9 activity. Fluorometer measurements were taken for each well at 6 h, and relative fluorescence units were calculated for each sample. (C) Data represent means of three experiments.
