Animals were immunized with DCs matured with antigen, antigen and CpG 1826 (6 mg ml⁻¹), or control ODN (6 mg ml⁻¹) or DC matured with antigen only and injected with CpG 1826 (75 mg per mouse). Shown is the maturation of DCs with CpG; the use of CpG as an adjuvant significantly increased (P < 0.05) the numbers of IFN-γ-secreting spleen cells relative to the other treatment groups.
