E. coli ATCC 9637 was seeded in MHB in checkerboard format in a 384-well plate containing a constant concentration of compound and varying doses of rifampin. Bacterial growth was monitored by turbidimetry at 600 nm. PMBN and melittin were used as positive controls. Wells containing no test compound served as negative controls.
