(N)-MCT was prepared in 0.4% carboxymethyl cellulose and delivered i.p. twice daily in 0.1-ml doses. CDV was prepared in sterile saline and given i.p. once daily in 0.1-ml doses. All animals were treated for 5 days beginning 24 h postinfection.
