Different oligomer distributions in a simple cascading system. The simple cascading reaction Eq. 4 involves only three different types of oligomers: dimers (M2), tetramers (M4), and hexamers (M6). In the quasi-steady state, dimers and hexamers have Gaussian-like distributions, while the distribution of tetramers is Poisson-like (compare with Fig. 6).
