Effects of HCMV IE2-86 upon mdm2-dependent transactivation of the cyclin A promoter. BHK-21 cells were transfected with a plasmid encoding firefly luciferase from a cyclin A promoter (WT-Luc) and combinations of expression vectors encoding mdm2 and/or IE2-86 and its mutants. Firefly luciferase activities were normalized to the Renilla luciferase activities of an internal control plasmid (pRL-TK) and relative firefly luciferase activities were determined by setting WT-Luc transfections to 1.0 arbitrary unit. Values are presented as the means ± standard deviation of four independent experiments.
