Levels of immunoreactive CBP and acetylated histone H3 in human fetal type II cells are reduced by hypoxia. Human fetal type II cells were incubated for 24 h in control medium in a 2% or 20% O₂-containing environment followed by incubation for 24 h in the absence or presence of Bt₂cAMP or IL-1α in 2% or 20% O₂. Nuclear proteins (15 μg) were analyzed by Western blotting using antibodies to CBP (A), acetyl-histone H3 (B), and total histone H3 (C).
