CD4+ CD8- 25+ thymocytes from day 2 thymus are not functional Treg cells. CD4+CD8-CD25+ thymocytes from day 2 newborn thymus or mature Treg cells from adult mice were purified and activated alone or mixed at 1:2 ratio with fixed number of CD4+CD25- responder T cells.
