Increased IL-8 secretion in A549 cells in response to C. pneumoniae infection. Each time point was measured in triplicate; error bars represent standard deviations. A549 cells were either untreated (controls [Con]) or inoculated with C. pneumoniae (C.p.). At the time points specified postinfection, culture supernatants were collected and secreted IL-8 was measured by ELISA.
