The boundaries of the I locus were established by the identification of recombination events between Bng45 and the TIR cluster on one side and between the TIR cluster and Phgp on the opposite side. Recombination was found to be suppressed within the I locus, which occupies ∼>425 kb. The empty box represents a gap in the contig.
