Exogenous cyclin A induces germinal vesicle breakdown (GVBD) and M-phase promoting factor activation in the absence of cyclin B and Mos synthesis. Oocytes were either injected or not injected with a mixture of Mos morpholino antisense and cyclin B antisense (AS-cyclins/Mos). After 18 h, they were either incubated or not incubated with cycloheximide (CHX) for 1 h. Time course of GVBD was monitored after (A) progesterone (Pg) addition or (B) cyclin A injection.
