Fabrication of immunological synapse arrays. (A) Schematic procedure of surface patterning. A PNMP thin film is irradiated through a photomask (Ai), developed with PBS (Aii), and then re-exposed to UV in the absence of a mask (Aiii). A first ligand is deposited (Aiv), followed by washing with pH 7.4 buffer (Av), and finally the second ligand is immobilized by using the newly exposed biotin groups (Avi).
