Phosphorylation of TrkA induced by alpha-toxin in rabbit neutrophils. (A) Proteins extracted from rabbit neutrophils with 7.5% trichloroacetic acid were subjected to SDS-PAGE and Western blotting using anti-TrkA antibody. Lane 1, PC12 cell lysates (positive control); lane 2, lysates of rabbit neutrophils (10 × 106 cells/ml); lane 3, lysates of rabbit neutrophils (20 × 106 cells/ml). (B) Rabbit neutrophils (10 × 106 cells/ml) were incubated with 1.0 μg/ml alpha-toxin at 37°C for various periods, and phospho-TrkA extracted from the cells with 7.5% trichloroacetic acid was subjected to SDS-PAGE and Western blotting using anti-phospho TrkA antibody. A typical result from one of five experiments is shown.
