sCD14 induces a B cell growth and differentiation in vivo. (a) Kinetics of appearance of IgMa in the serum of developing [BALB/c (IgMa) × C57bl/6 (IgMb)]F1 pups as determined by ELISA. (b) nBoCD14 induces a transient increase in IgM secretion in vivo. Groups of three [BALB/c (IgMa) × C57bl/6 (IgMb)]F1 pups were injected intraperitoneally with 10 μg of either milk-derived nBoCD14 or BSA, or left untreated, on day 4 of life. Serum from treated and untreated animals was collected on the indicated days of life, and contained IgMa was quantitated by ELISA as described in Materials and Methods.
