For each individual and each inferred cluster, the fraction of the individual's ancestry estimated by structure to derive from that cluster is represented by its distance to the opposite side of the triangle. The sum of the distances from any point to all three sides is 1. Although pairwise genetic distances between clusters are not equal, clusters are graphically represented as equidistant from each other.
