Groups of six mice each were either hyperimmunized with purified rotaviruses or orally immunized with lysates of these viruses by the procedures described in Materials and Methods. Serum specimens collected from these animals were tested for neutralizing antibody levels against the specified viruses, and the geometric mean titers (GMTs) of these sera were calculated. The lowest titer measurable was 20, and titers below this value were set at 20 to calculate GMTs.
Titers not in parentheses are for sera collected from hyperimmunized mice; titers in parentheses are for sera from orally immunized mice.
