Antimycobacterial effect of PDT on induced granulomas in BALB/c mice. Collagen scaffolds were implanted in mice for 3 weeks, after which mice received 0.5 mg/kg BPD, and after 1 hour, they were irradiated with 60 J/cm2 of 690-nm light (fluence rate, 65 mW/cm2). Bacterial viability was assessed 72 h after a single treatment by determining numbers of CFU on Middlebrook agar (***, P < 0.001).
