Leaf symptoms induced by infiltration of SNP in catalase-deficient tobacco (CAT1AS) and wild-type plants exposed to a moderate HL treatment. Leaf of wild-type (WT) or catalase-deficient (CAT1AS) plant infiltrated with 1 mm of the NO donor SNP and exposed to a HL treatment (500 μmol m−2 s−1) for 6 h is shown. CAT1AS plants were also infiltrated with SNP plus the NO scavenger cPTIO, with potassium ferrocyanide, or with light-inactivated SNP. Pictures were taken after 48 and 72 h.
