Ultrastructure of wild-type, pex23 mutant, and PEX23-transformed strains. The E122 (A), pex23-1 (B), P23TR (C), and pex23KOA (D) strains were grown in glucose-containing YEPD medium (YND medium for strain P23TR) for 16 h, transferred to oleic acid–containing YPBO medium (YNO medium for strain P23TR), and grown for an additional 8 h in oleic acid–containing medium.
