Proteins with amoebicidal activity identified in human milk. (A) Proteins of human milk and from the fraction enriched in proteins were loaded (30 μg/well) in gels and separated by SDS-PAGE. (B) Gels were electroblotted to a nitrocellulose membrane and then incubated with antibodies against IgA, lactoferrin and lysozyme. A secondary antibody coupled to horseradish peroxidase was used and the color reaction was revealed by the 3,3-diaminobenzidine method.
