Electron microscopic detection of the ETS 1 of 35S rRNA in wild-type yeasts L1494 and NOY 558. The upstream region of the ETS 1 in 35S rRNA was localized by ISH in the nucleus of L1489, L1494, NOY 505, and NOY 558. In the parental strains (L1489 and NOY 505), the labeling was exclusively detected along the DFC (A and C). In L1494, the gold particles were positioned along the fibrillar network of the nucleolar region (B). In NOY 558, most of the gold particles were localized in the peripheral component of the mininucleoli (arrows), whereas none was detected in the dense component (arrowhead) (D).
