Figure 2

Expression patterns of unc-101 and apm-1. The two genes are expressed ubiquitously throughout development. The left panels show expression patterns of unc-101 and the right panels those of apm-1. (A-D) show embryos consisting of ∼ 100 cells, (E-H), animals at their L1 stage, (I-L), the head region of animals at their L4 stage, and (M-P) show the vulval regions of L4 stage animals. A, C, M, and N are Nomarski images of the embryos; E, F, I, and J are DAPI staining images showing locations of the nuclei. All others show GFP expression. Both genes are strongly expressed during embryogenesis and at the L1 stage. At the L4 stage, unc-101 is strongly expressed in the pharynx and in the vulval cells, and apm-1 is strongly expressed in the nerve ring, as well as in the vulval cells. The arrows in (M-P) are the invaginations of the vulvae. The scale bar is 10 μm.
