Samples testing invalid by NASBA were reextracted and reamplified at least once before the final result was obtained.
These culture isolates were ultimately identified as parechovirus and not enterovirus.
Four mouth swabs and one each brain biopsy sample, oral lesion swab, skin lesion swab, urine sample, and serum sample.
