Media tested were LB-20 mM sodium acetate and LB-20 mM sodium propionate. Asterisks indicate significant RNA level differences (P value, <0.05; Student's t test) that exceeded 2-fold or were below 0.5-fold. For operons, RNA levels for all genes are given. Three independent cultivations and DNA microarray experiments were performed.
