Inhibition of DNA, RNA and protein synthesis in 293 cells. Exponentially growing 293 cells were treated for 18 h with 1-Chl (0.01–10 µM), followed by 1 h incubation with [3H]thymidine (DNA, shaded circles), [3H]uridine (RNA, shaded squares) and [3H]leucine (proteins, open squares). The percentages of inhibition of the precursors incorporation into DNA, RNA and proteins were determined as described in Materials and Methods. The data points represent the average of two independent experiments.
