FGF-1-induced promatrilysin expression in LNCaP cells. (A) LNCaP cells (4x10⁴ cells/cm²) were treated with 10 ml of serum-free DMEM (control) or with FGF-1 (10 ng/ml), with 2 µg/ml sodium heparin for different time periods. The conditioned media were collected after 4, 6, 12, 18, 24, and 48 hours of incubation and ELISA was performed with antibodies specific to promatrilysin. (B) Total cell lysates were collected after 2, 6, 12, 24, and 48 hours of incubation and ELISA was performed with antibodies specific to matrilysin. Each bar represents the mean and standard deviation of three independent experiments run in triplicate.
