Sequence identities are boxed in black, and conservative substitutions are shaded. The C-terminal fragment (Int6CT) predicted to be expressed from the partial cDNA identified in the drug resistance screen would extend from the methionine residue indicated by the horizontal arrow to the carboxyl terminus. Arrowheads indicate the positions of the carboxyl termini of the short (s), medium (m), and full-length (fl) versions of the human protein expressed in fission yeast in this study.
