pVHL does not appear to influence global protein synthesis in 786-0 cells. 786-0 cells that either lacked (VHL⁻) or expressed (VHL⁺) pVHL were incubated with l-[³⁵S]methionine and l-[³⁵S]cysteine for 5 h, whereupon whole-cell lysates were prepared and newly synthesized, radiolabeled proteins were assessed.
