Sulindac sulfide and sulfone decrease PG levels in HCA-7 cells. HCA-7 cells were plated in 100mm dishes and grown to 70% confluence, then treated for 23 hours with sulindac sulfide, sulindac sulfone, or vehicle (DMSO). One hour before harvesting media, the cells were washed with PBS and media containing 10 µmol/L arachidonic acid and the indicated dose of drug was added. PGE₂ levels were determined by using gas chromatography negative ion chemical ionization-mass spectrometry and standardized to cell number. Error bars represent the standard error of the mean.
