Ability of chimeric fusions to restore G1 arrest to ste20Δ bar1Δ strains. Cells having STE20 deleted (SY3750) were transformed with pRS315-derived plasmids carrying full-length STE20, full-length CLA4, or a chimeric gene fusion. The resultant strains were spread on the surface of selective plate medium and allowed to dry. A sterile solution of synthetic α-factor dissolved in water was applied to filter disks, which were placed on the plates.
