Ability of chimeric fusions to function in the HOG pathway. Cells having STE20 and SSK1 deleted (SY3753) were transformed with pRS315-derived plasmids carrying full-length STE20, full-length CLA4, or a chimeric fusion. The resultant strains were grown as patches on selective medium and were then replica plated to yeast extract-peptone-dextrose (YPD) (rich medium) or yeast extract-peptone-dextrose plus 1.2 M NaCl.
