Schematic configuration of the setup for temperature mapping in the microwave-irradiated EGFP solution. The transparent EGFP droplet is placed on a cholesteric liquid crystal indicator. The microwave applicator is mounted from the backside of the indicator in such a way that its apex aims at the center of the drop. We observe the change of color of the liquid crystal indicator under microwave irradiation.
