Profiles obtained with primer 1290 for the 10 emerging colonies are identical to those of IS Hp141; similar results were obtained with primers 1283, 1247, 1281, and D9355. Profiles obtained with primer 1254 showed that the 10 studied colonies had an additional 950-bp DNA fragment (black arrow) compared to IS Hp141. Numbers at right indicate base pairs.
